Measles Infection : Prevent it-Know its Causes,Symptoms and Treatment
Measles is very common and dangerous viral infection that is highly contagious and occurs in children. The symptoms are red rashes, catarrhal, fever which is easily visible on the skin. It is also called rubella which is a very severe infection. It is mainly observed as ear infection, pneumonia and brain inflammation. It is highly contagious which gets transferred through coughs and sneezes or through nose secretions with its vius spreading in air.
It may last for five days as it reduces the body immunity and occurs in the form of blotchy red rashes and severe pain. This occurs through paramyzovirus which is measles virus that mainly attacks in early spring or in winter. It occurs in the body through respiratory system by air. The main symptoms of this disease are:
- It occurs due to physical contact with any infected person.
- It spreads through secretion through coughs or sneezes.
- It reduces immunodeficiency of a person.
- It occurs owing to deficiency of vitamin A.
- It occurs due to malnutrition,
Some symptoms which appears after seven or eleven days after the first contact from virus are:
- Sneezing.
- Runny nose.
- Skin rash.
- Koplik spots.
- Light sensitivity.
- Barking cough or just coughing.
- High fever.
- Red spots inside the mouth.
In the treatment process, quarantine is used to stop the spreading of this disease. One can also use antibiotic medication for bacterial infection. It is also necessary to take care of the eyes as they become very sensitive to high light and if any infection occurs then wash them without rubbing. One can keep the eyes away from light and use sunglasses. On the onset of high fever, drink at least eight glass of water every day. Also an infected person should urinate every two hours. Taking a balanced diet is very important during this infection and even lotion can also be used on the itching area. This infection can also be treated with homemade remedies that are:
- Yarrow and Lobelia are used for recovery.
- Garlic oil is used to stop infection from spreading the body.
- Orange Juice is highly beneficial for measles’ treatment.
- Lemonade is used to treat infection.
- Ginger tea is used to lower down fever.
- Saffron tea or sake root tea is used for healing method.
However, if any serious complication occurs then you can consult a doctor. But mind it that prevention is better than cure.
